DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, April 15th\, from 4:30pm – 7:00pm\, as Point Loma Nazarene University hosts the 13th Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Parent Reception for DS Action Families.  Come out and enjoy this FREE event.  You MUST register to attend\, as space is limited. \nREGISTER HERE \nThis event is for individuals with Down syndrome (of all ages) and their immediate families. \nPLNU students will offer families support by engaging children and individuals with Down syndrome in fun activities\, getting refreshments and the main event… the Easter Egg Hunt. This will provide parents/caregivers time to relax and talk with each other. \nIMPORTANT NOTE:  The Easter Egg Hunt Activity will be for all persons with Down syndrome (all ages) and siblings (only up to 12 years of age).  Also\, there will be some coordination changes so that all involved in the activity have an opportunity to collect eggs for their baskets. \nPlease be sure to RSVP by April 7th\, as we need to know how many adults and children will be attending.  There is a limit to the number of total guests\, due to the available space at the location.  We look forward to seeing you there! \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Sharla Hank at sharla.hank@dsaction.com or (619) 694-4615.

Loma)\, from 3-5pm\, for a fun-filled social activity!  Gather your friends and family for some holiday cheer.  Whether you’re a fan of skating or just want to hang out and chat\, it’s the perfect opportunity to gather with friends. We look forward to seeing you there! \nREGISTER HERE \nPlease be sure to register if you plan on skating\, so we know how many plan to attend.  This will help the ice rink team prepare.  Those who will be skating\, you will pay $10/per person at the rink.  For our friends who have Down syndrome\, we have some free wristbands.  Please stop by the DS Action booth to check in and say hi!

DESCRIPTION:We are look forward to having you join us and our community partner\, Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU)\, as they host the  2nd Annual Harvest Dance with Friends for DS Action families.  Please join us on FRIDAY\, November 8th from 6pm – 9pm. \n***CLICK HERE TO REGISTER*** \nThe PLNU Department of Sociology\, Social Work and Family Sciences\, along with The PLNU School of Education have a fun filled autumn celebration planned.  The event will be held on the PLNU main campus\, Fermanian Conference Center at 3900 Lomaland Drive.   There will be music\, dancing\, activities and light refreshments. \nThis event is for individuals with Down syndrome (11 years old and up) and their immediate families.   \n**This is a FREE event.  However\, we would like to ask families to please consider donating a pair of new (or gently used) shoes or athletic shoes/cleats to support PLNU’s shoe drive for the San Diego Rescue Mission.** \nPlease be sure to RSVP by November 6th\, as we need to know how many guests will be attending.  There is a limit to the number of total guests\, due to the available space at the location. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Sharla Hank at sharla.hank@dsaction.com or (619) 694-4615.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us on select Saturdays at 10 am PST/1 pm EST (parents in all areas are welcome) for a Virtual Parent/Caregiver Support Group gathering.  This parent collaboration is open to discussions of all ages and stages of development.\n\nDS Action recognizes that our community is in need of ways to navigate the challenges we have faced over the past few years.   Therefore\, we decided to take action and find solutions to help families cope.  Also\, we know that there is always a need for parents/caregivers to collaborate with other families who have children with Down syndrome.  We are glad to be providing a way for open communication to share thoughts\, concerns\, achievements\, ideas and resources.\n\n\nThis support group is FREE.\n\nThere will be facilitators to support our group gatherings\, sharing ways that we can better manage stress and anxiety\, offer parenting strategies\, and ways to promote better self care\, health and wellness.\n\nCurrently\, DS Action is working on hosting additional family support groups/webinars. It’s a B.Y.O.P. – Bring Your Own Picnic. Please bring chairs\, blankets\, shade cover\, sunscreen and your favorite picnic food & beverage items. We will provide the FUN and ENTERTAINMENT.
